Caran d’Ache Fibralo Brush Pens are fibre tipped brush pens with a water-soluble ink. The short soft brush tip on these pens gives a varying line width of 0.5 - 5mm. Just hold the pen lightly and use the fine point of the brush nib to achieve fine detail or apply more pressure to get thicker lines. Alternatively, use the side of the brush pen to cover large areas of colour quickly and to get broader brush strokes.
Caran d’Ache Fibralo Brush Pens are ideal for colouring, drawing, design, sketching, illustration, calligraphy and comic design. Pullingers stock Caran d’Ache Fibralo Brush Pens in sets of 10 or 15 assorted colours in a handy zip up case.
Which paper is best to use Caran d’Ache Fibralo Brush Pens on?
A smooth Cartridge Paper such as the Winsor & Newton Smooth Surface Heavyweight Cartridge Pad or Bristol Board is the best paper surface for using Caran d’Ache Fibralo Brush Pens on because the ink remains on the paper surface so the colours will blend better when water is added. Hot Pressed Watercolour Paper like Botanical Ultra Smooth Paper is also ideal. If using Caran d’Ache Fibralo Brush Pens on a NOT / Cold Pressed Watercolour Paper, the ink tends to sink into the paper more making it harder to blend the colours. The inks in these brush pens do not bleed through paper so they are suitable for Sketchbooks and Colouring Books.
Are Caran d’Ache Fibralo Brush Pens Lightfast?
The bright intense colours in these pens are made using food colouring so therefore they are not lightfast. However, this does make them suitable for all ages and they are ideal for design work where the artwork is not in direct sunlight. Caran d’Ache Fibralo Brush Pens are perfect for mixed media work with watercolours, but remember they are not lightfast.
Pullingers review on Caran d’Ache Fibralo Brush Pens.
Another brilliant Swiss Fine Art product from Caran d’Ache! We recommend these brush pens for all art enthusiasts, from the beginner to the professional and the crafter. They are a great choice for using on adult colouring books and the brush tip is like using a paint brush but with better control. The fibre tip brush comes to a fine point, is flexible and springs back to shape. Caran d’Ache Fibralo Brush Pens are best used for sketching rather than painting techniques.
