These Canson Heritage Watercolour Blocks contain 20 sheets of Hot Pressed 140lbs / 300gsm acid free watercolour paper. It is a mould-made 100% cotton paper that has a unique ‘handmade’ texture.
Canson Heritage Watercolour Paper stays wetter for longer giving more working time and the paper surface can withhold a lot of re-working without getting damaged. The high quality surface sized paper is very strong and brings out the vibrancy and intensity of the watercolour paint.
The Hot Pressed surface is very smooth and holds brushstrokes very well without the paint bleeding into the paper. This results in sharp clean brushstrokes and makes it the perfect paper for fine detail painting and drawing. It is also ideal for watercolour washes as the paper is very absorbent, pens and markers, coloured pencil and ink work.Glued along all 4 edges, Canson Heritage blocks are great for painting whilst out and about as you don't need to stretch the paper first. Blocks are also available in a cold pressed and rough surface, pads and single sheets.
Hot Pressed Canson Heritage Watercolour Paper is very similar to the old Fabriano 5 Watercolour Paper and is highly recommended by botanical artists and watercolour artists.
