Ecoline Brush Pens are liquid watercolour pens that are available in 59 transparent vivid colours and a Blender Pen. Ecoline Brush Pens by Royal Talens contain a concentrated water-based dye ink with a gum arabic solution. Thin the ink with water to create watercolour washes and to blend colours or use the Blender Brush Pen. The colours are not waterproof so even when dry they can be wetted and re-worked.
The brush nib on these Ecoline Pens are 5mm wide at the base going into a finer point and 8mm in length. The brush tip is flexible so you can achieve precise lines, broad brush strokes or fill in large areas of colour, all by applying different pressure to the nib.
Easy to use and odourless, Ecoline Brush Pens are perfect for sketching and drawing, calligraphy, product and fashion design and illustration. For best results, use these pens on a white or light coloured thick paper or watercolour paper if you are applying a lot of water. The ink dries quickly but is not lightfast so artwork should be kept in a portfolio or sketchbook or behind UV glass.
If you forget to put the lid back on and the nib dries out just wet it with water and your Ecoline Brush Pen will be revived.
To achieve high quality colour blending and watercolour washes, use Ecoline Brush Pens to colour on acetate or plastic. Whilst the ink is still wet (add more water with a paint brush if needed), blend the colours together with the blender pen and place your paper over the top, rubbing it to get the ink off the acetate for a watercolour wash, or pick up the colour using a paint brush.
