The Clairefontaine Pastelmat Pad No.4 contains 12 sheets of Pastelmat Card in four new shades: Light Blue, Dark Blue, Sand and Lie De Vin (a deep burgundy). You get 3 of each colour in the pad and it is glue bound at the top.
Clairefontaine Pastelmat is a 360gsm / 170lbs paper designed for use with soft pastels and pastel pencils. Pastelmat Card is made from fine particles of ground up cork to give a coarse surface with a fine tooth.
This cork surface gives better adhesion, retaining pastel colours without the need for heavy fixing in between layers while still allowing for fine detail to be achieved.
Pastelmat is acid free and these pads are available in the following sizes: 18 x 24cm, 24 x 30cm and 30 x 40cm.
Each page of the Pastelmat Pad is interleaved with crystal paper to protect your pastel drawings and to stop the pastel colours from being transferred to the back of the previous page.
This high quality Pastel Paper is very popular with professional Pastel Artists. You can even rub out areas of pastel or wet the paper and it will retain its original properties.
