Liquitex Matt Varnish produces a matt finish when applied making it ideal for protecting paintings that are going to be in a high lit room to avoid light reflection. It does not reduce colour depth and will not crack. It is applicable for any acrylic painted surface (flexible and rigid) such as canvas, paper, wood, stone, etc.
Liquitex Matt Varnish is a 100% permanent acrylic polymer varnish that is water soluble and translucent when wet. It dries extremely clear and is a durable, archival qualtiy varnish that is non-yellowing.
This Matt Varnish dries to a non-tacky, hard, flexible surface with a water resistant finish. Depending upon substrate, it allows moisture to pass through (breathable). You can apply this varnish over dry acrylic paint but not over oil paint.
You can thin this varnish if desired, with a small amount of water to increase flow, making it easier to apply. Do not over thin as it will weaken the varnish film and adhesion.
Mix Matt Varnish with Liquitex Flow Aid to reduce brush strokes. This product is suitable for interior and exterior use. Do not attempt to remove it with solvents.
