Winsor & Newton Pigment Markers are acid-free, high-quality marker pens that are lightfast up to 100 years under normal gallery conditions. These fantastic new markers come in a range of 105 colours and can be mixed and blended with ease. With a broad angled chisel tip on one end, and a fine rounded bullet tip on the other, these impressive markers are suitable for a whole range of artistic endeavours.
Made using the finest quality artist’s grade pigment, Winsor & Newton Pigment Markers are a revolutionary product unlike any other on the market. When used on the correct surfaces, Pigment Markers can be mixed with each other and can be blended and softened using either the colourless Blender or the exclusive White Blender pen.
What are the benefits of using Pigment Markers over other markers?
Due to being pigment-based instead of the traditional dye-based pens, Pigment Markers have the look and feel of real paint, but in a controllable pen. Each marker is ergonomically designed so that drawing for hours is never uncomfortable, and the shape of the barrel differs to suit either the chisel or the bullet tip. Pigment Markers work best when used on Winsor & Newton Pigment Marker Pads as the paper has been designed specifically with the Pigment Markers in mind. Each page is coated so that the pigmented ink doesn’t bleed or soak into the paper, but rather sits on top. The paper in the Pigment Marker pads is 75gsm, and the pads are available in A3 or A4.
What do the Colourless Blender and the White blender do?
Pigment Markers have 2 options when blending - a colourless blender and a white blender. The colourless blender helps to blend the colours without compromising the colours already laid down. This is ideal when soft lines and blocks of colour are a necessity, and using the colourless blender gives a streak free finish. You can also use the colourless blender for mixing colours both on the page and on a separate pallet. The white blender works in much the same way as the colourless, however it does lighten the colour when used. This means you have an endless colour pallet when using Winsor & Newton Pigment Markers and you can lighten dark colours up in grades through to pastel shades and beyond. By using the white blender on black paper, you can create stunning effects in white and also create a base shadow-like effect for other colours.
